I carve ancient fossils
Out of solid rock;
Hold concrete,
Hard,
Evidence.
Some poor creature
Lived and died
Countless eons past.

In geologic time
You're a too tiny,
Tedious,
Pause.
A brief speck - 
One moment of
Meaningless,
Utter nothingness.
